Get to know me!
Hello, I’m Deepali Singh. Thank you for visiting my page! : )
To give you a little background, I’m a science student pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science and engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi.
Albert Einstein once said, “I have no special talents, I’m only passionately curious.” — you do not need to be a science student to understand the science behind things, just curious enough!
Since I was a kid, I’ve been intrigued by science and technology. I always had a keen interest in exploring, researching, and finding out how machines, programs, and processes function. And through my experiences over the years, I’d say it’s safe to conclude that most often an extremely complicated-looking device turns out to have a seemingly easy mechanism when explained well enough — giving a little intel on materials used, why they are used, what’s the chemistry behind and breaking down the procedure in understandable bits, then piecing them together — it is careful storytelling.
This blog is a part of my course ‘Science Writing’. Every week, we’ll try to explore and understand a new interesting topic in science. As a science student, I need to be able to explain the complicated workings of models in layman terms; it’s also important to keep things interesting. By the end of this course, I expect to have become (much more) efficient in providing understandable bits of technical information. As we go along, I’ll also try to experiment with my writing style; would try to make my writing more interactive and engrossing.
As Albert Einstein once said, “I have no special talents, I’m only passionately curious.” — you do not need to be a science student to understand the science behind things, just curious enough! With this thought, I’d like to enable access to easy science to everyone through the medium of my blog page. I’ll try to make this series as informative yet simple as possible.
Come join the journey with me? Happy reading!
